I’ve been around creative arts for years without realizing the influence it
had on me. My grandmother designed porcelain dolls my entire childhood
here in Sioux City. She would spend hours painting features on the dolls as
well as making each one’s clothing. She taught me the world art can bring
us into. Since then, I’ve been involved with sketching, painting, as well as
my passion…photography.
I enjoy portraits, landscapes, as well as event photography. Learning
composition, lighting, color, as well as inspiration has been so fulfilling.
Being involved with the high demands in the world of medicine for years,
slowing down for photography offers stillness, calmness, and the patience
that we miss out on such a fast-paced life we live. The noise fades and the
creative space I can be in brings a calm clarity that’s so hard to find at
times.
