Abstract artist Kristin Vo is originally from Minnesota and moved to the area four years ago. She has degrees in Nursing and Information Technology with an emphasis in Information Security. Art has always surrounded Kristin, her mother was a talented Folk and Tole painter all through Kristin’s childhood and her parents emphasized how important the arts were, from visual to performance and that they should be part of everyday life.
Throughout her twenties and thirties Kristin spent most of her time focusing on work and traveling, she realized there was more to life than just work and constantly moving. About two years ago, Kristin felt the pull to start painting again.
Kristin prefers to work with acrylic paints, alcohol inks, pigments and resin on both wood cradle panels and canvas. Her work is focused on color combinations and flow of color. Kristin also designs websites for artists and businesses.
She is inspired by science and nature, her medical background and all things celestial. She loves paintings and art from Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, Tamara de Lempicka, Takashi Murakami, 404.zero and Ian Davenport, just to name a few.
Paintings and resin pieces can be seen on her Instagram @kristinqvo and will be available at the Art Sux Gallery for purchase.
